Let’s be raw, honest and get to the point: things tend to get delayed at a wedding. We have been in many and we can say that in most of them something unexpected happens that delays something and when that something is delayed guess where the time is cut… Exactly, from the time designated to the photos.

In most cases the bride is ready barely on time for the ceremony. You can think, so it’s not that bad, the bride won’t delay the ceremony, but being barely on time means less time or no time for portraits and family photos in the preps. These pictures can be taken later, of course, but they’ll be simply different. A lot of excitement and nervousness goes away after the ceremony and also that nostalgic feeling that makes hugs with parents more beautiful is going to be gone by the time the ceremony is over.

But what we really regret is the moment the bride dresses. This has to be a special moment, one to remember, that’s the wedding dress guys, the one the bride looked for during weeks or even months. It is not fair to get dressed in such a hurry just because the timeline of the day was too tight and left no room for the unexpected.

But fortunately the solution is easy. Don’t be optimistic with the timeline of the day, don’t even be realistic. Be a little bit paranoid because at the end of the day there’s no such thing as being ready too early for a bride. A bride will always find something nice to do like take more portraits, enjoy a toast with her bridesmaids or even have a little first look with her dad.

And about the groom, to be honest, they are almost never ready late. But grooms, don’t get too excited, anyway follow the timeline and listen to your future wife, take that shower soon and be ready for the photographer, let’s start on the right foot that marriage for god’s sake.

And now, about the couple photos on the wedding day… there’s something that doesn’t give any extra time and no one can control: daylight. If you’ve dreamed of a nice light for your couple photos please, please, please, don’t set a start time for the ceremony too close to sunset because, again, life happens and anything, really, anything, can take place and change your plans. Set a friendly-photographer time for the ceremony, something realistic but also a little bit, yes, again, paranoid. You can do anything with that extra time if it turns out life follows your master plan and the time of the ceremony you set is fulfilled and the ceremony ends at the expected time. For example, you can take more photos with family and friends or share more time with guests during the cocktail time.

In the end our message is none other than this, the wedding day has to be a stress-free day. And we can assure you that there’s nothing less stressful than realizing you have time to enjoy every moment of the day and also have all the photos you want. It’s not a long day, ask anybody about their wedding and how they felt about time that day, their answer will surely be that time flew faster than ever that day. We know it, we’ve been in hundreds of weddings.
